Frosting Recipes, Take The Time To Make Your Own

Making your own frosting is easy with the right frosting recipes, it is also more economical, tastier, healthier and convenient. Preservative free frosting just like Grandma used to make looks better, tastes better and will give you a sense of achievement.

On the whole, Americans have gotten used to convenience in everything they do, but convenience is not always good for you, except in very small doses. Things which come out of a tube would never have been recognized as food by Grandma and this should be the way you look at food. If she did not recognize it as being food, like cheese in a tube, then it isn't food.

It does not take as much time as you think to make frosting, and today we have all the beaters and kitchen gadgets we want at our disposal. Grandma would have made it with a bowl and a wooden spoon, we don't have to do that and our frosting will taste just as good as hers, the kids will never want you to buy store bought frosting again!

There are butter cream frosting recipes, which can be used as a basic and changed according to needs. If you want a batch of chocolate, lemon and strawberry, make up a batch of one mixture and divide it into three to get your different colors and flavors. Use cream cheese instead of butter and get a great alternative for health and carrot cakes.

There are so many fast, easy and delicious frostings which can be made from a set of very basic rules, and it can be used on cup cakes, brownies, cakes, you name it. Frost Graham Crackers for something completely different, your children will love them.

A couple of tips include, don't use granulated sugar, your frosting won't work, use "confectioners" sugar, one can't be substituted for the other. Use butter, not margarine, and only frost your cakes after they have cooled down completely. - 30289
